Conditions We Treat

Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome

Nerve compression in the ankle — the foot's version of carpal tunnel.

Tarsal tunnel syndrome occurs when the posterior tibial nerve is compressed as it passes through the tarsal tunnel — a narrow space inside the ankle. It causes burning, tingling, and numbness along the bottom of the foot.
