Treatment Approach

Dr. Husein's philosophy

80% of cases resolve with conservative care

Conservative Care First (Preferred)

  • Rest and activity modification
  • Ice and compression
  • Ankle bracing
  • Physical therapy and strengthening
  • Anti-inflammatory medications
  • Custom orthotics
  • Gradual return to activity

Surgical Consideration (Last Resort)

Surgery is always the last resort.
Surgical repair of torn peroneal tendons is considered when conservative treatment fails or when imaging reveals a significant tear. Dr. Husein prioritizes rehabilitation before surgical discussion.
