Treatment Approach

Dr. Husein's philosophy

80% of cases resolve with conservative care

Conservative Care First (Preferred)

  • Rest from aggravating activities
  • Heel cups and cushioned insoles
  • Stretching of the calf and Achilles
  • Ice therapy after activity
  • Anti-inflammatory medications
  • Supportive footwear
  • Temporary activity modification

Surgical Consideration (Last Resort)

Surgery is always the last resort.
Surgery is never needed for Sever's disease. The condition always resolves once growth is complete. Conservative care focuses on managing pain until the growth plate closes.
